"Our two kids started playing their instrument at Opus 1 several years ago. They love it, and we are happy they enjoy making music. The teachers are fantastic. There are several recitals every year, which I love attending — it's a real treat!"
Why families choose us
Conservatory-trained teachers, premium instruments, and purpose-built studios — backed by 15+ years and 1,400+ students across the Bay Area.
Our 45+ teachers hold Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degrees in music, pedagogy, and/or early childhood development — and they're employees, background-checked and fingerprinted, not gig contractors.
Students learn on acoustic grand pianos and professional-grade, well-maintained instruments at every campus — the same quality they'll perform on, not entry-level practice gear.
10,000+ sq ft across three Bay-Area campuses, with 30 private soundproofed lesson rooms, group classrooms, and recital-ready performance spaces.
No yearly or semester commitments. Tuition is paid monthly, giving you the flexibility to switch instruments or withdraw at any time.
Need to reschedule a lesson? Not a problem. Reschedule your private lessons with your teacher or a substitute online.
Lessons are available in English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
Some music schools close for the summer — we're open all year long, closing only for major national holidays.
While most schools only prepare students for the CM exam, we offer CM, RCM, and ABRSM exam preparation — with a track record of students performing at Carnegie Hall.
